Engaging in Global Sustainable Development Dialogue, Moon Environment Technology CO., LTD. Invited to Attend the UNIDO Sustainable Cooling Forum 2026 Hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization
Date:2026.04.17 Size

At the beginning of this month, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization hosted the UNIDO Sustainable Cooling Forum 2026 at the Vienna International Centre. The forum showcased the impact of UNIDO’s Montreal Protocol projects on sustainable cooling technologies and the active role of industry. Bringing together stakeholders from around the world, the forum facilitated the exchange of innovative solutions and experiences in technology, policy, business, and financing practices, aiming to advance sustainable cooling solutions, strengthen partnerships, and build cross-sector collaborative response systems to address the multiple challenges facing the global cooling sector with a systems-thinking approach.

At present, driven by multiple factors such as rising global temperatures, continuous population growth, accelerated industrialization, and increasing household income levels, global demand for cooling is growing rapidly. Cooling technology has become a critical cornerstone supporting global sustainable development, and its green transformation and innovation are directly linked to the achievement of carbon neutrality goals and environmental improvement.

On this occasion, Moon Environment Technology CO., LTD. was invited by UNIDO to participate in the global forum alongside China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the China Household Electrical Appliances Association. Ju Chengcheng, Deputy Director of the Central Research Institute of Moon-Tech, delivered a technical presentation at the climate forum held at the Hofburg Palace on the 9th, titled “The Promotion of Natural Refrigerants in China's Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration.” In the presentation, Moon Environment shared its technological expertise and practical achievements in the field of green refrigerants, highlighting the market expansion of NH₃/CO₂ cascade refrigeration systems and HCs refrigeration systems in industrial, commercial refrigeration and heat pump applications, demonstrating the innovative capabilities of Chinese enterprises in sustainable cooling technologies.

Moon-Tech subsidiary Dunham-Bush was also invited by UNIDO. Won Moon Fui, Deputy General Manager of Dunham-Bush Malaysia, shared data center cooling solutions at a side event, presenting on the topic “AI at the Energy Crossroads: From Footprint to Transformation for a Sustainable Energy Future.”

Over the years, Moon Environment has consistently adhered to the natural refrigerant technology pathway. Leveraging systematic thinking and full-chain technological innovation, the company continues to promote the green transformation and industrial upgrading of the cooling sector, enhancing climate resilience and risk adaptability in both industrial and societal contexts, and contributing Chinese strength to global inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

The successful hosting of this forum further strengthened partnerships among governments, leading enterprises, and international organizations. During the event, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the current technological landscape, policy frameworks, business models, and financing pathways in the cooling sector, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the complex challenges faced. The forum emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration and highlighted key technologies, financing mechanisms, and business models that support the transition to sustainable cooling. Its outcomes provide valuable references for UNIDO’s sustainable cooling strategy and help drive more ambitious actions in this field.
