On June 29, the 19th “Moon-Tech Cup” National HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Student Technology Competition (South China Final) successfully concluded at Guangdong University of Technology. The event brought together prominent figures from industry associations and academic institutions, who witnessed the remarkable performance of talented young professionals in the HVAC sector. Notable attendees at the closing ceremony included Mr. Zhang Zhaohui, Vice President of the China Association of Refrigeration (CAR); Mr. Bai Junwen, Secretary-General of CAR; Mr. Yang Xiaofan, Party Secretary of the School of Materials and Energy at Guangdong University of Technology; Mr. Chen Wenqing, CTO of Moon-Tech and Director of its Central Research Institute; and Mr. Qian Ranglong, Deputy General Manager of Moon-Tech’s Domestic Marketing Division.
The competition was organized by the China Association of Refrigeration, with support from the Energy and Power Engineering Teaching Steering Committee and the Building Environment and Energy Engineering Sub-Committee under the Ministry of Education. It was also backed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). As a co-organizer, Moon-Tech provided strong support to ensure the smooth execution of the event, while Guangdong University of Technology served as the host. The competition aims to foster academic innovation and reform in universities, enhance students’ practical abilities, and cultivate future talent for the HVAC industry.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from 17 universities across Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, and Fujian. Through diverse competition formats such as hands-on practical skills demonstrations, innovative design presentations, and knowledge-based quizzes, the participating students showcased their well-rounded capabilities in theory, technical skills, and innovation—demonstrating a strong spirit of exploration and professional excellence in the HVAC field.
At the closing ceremony, speeches were delivered by Mr. Yang Xiaofan, Mr. Bai Junwen, and Mr. Chen Wenqing. They spoke highly of the competition outcomes, praised the students’ outstanding performances, and expressed great expectations for future talent development and technological innovation within the industry. After intense rounds of competition, the final results were revealed. Guangdong University of Technology won the Grand Prize in the Graduate Division, along with two First Prizes and five Second Prizes. In the Undergraduate Comprehensive Division, Dongguan University of Technology and Fujian University of Technology each secured a Grand Prize. Additionally, four First Prizes and eleven Second Prizes were awarded.

Moon-Tech has long placed a high priority on talent development, viewing it as a core driver of sustainable industry growth. The company actively supports various student competitions and provides platforms for young talents to thrive. For this year’s competition, Moon-Tech prepared exclusive internship invitations for all graduate finalists and the undergraduate Grand Prize winners. The selected students will be invited to Moon-Tech’s headquarters in Yantai, a beautiful coastal city, to participate in immersive internship activities. These include professional lectures, factory visits, and team-building exercises—all designed to provide students with comprehensive, hands-on learning experiences and deepen their understanding of cutting-edge technologies and real-world enterprise operations. This initiative helps lay a solid foundation for their future careers in the HVAC industry.
In addition, a special online voting campaign titled “Innovation Design & Team Showcase for South China Final” was organized as part of the competition. A total of 32 undergraduate teams participated enthusiastically. From June 20 to June 26, the campaign attracted an impressive total of 89,703 votes, highlighting both the students’ innovative spirit and the widespread public attention the competition received.
