When the compressor unit of the MK automated cold storage project started smoothly, with the green light blinking steadily on the control panel and the temperature curve dropping as expected, it marked a key milestone in MOON-TECH’s breakthrough journey into Southeast Asia’s high-end cold chain market. It was also another successful showcase of Chinese refrigeration equipment on the global stage.
Looking back to 1997, when MOON-TECH (then known as Yantai Moon) first entered the Thai market, the challenges were numerous. Yet, with a firm commitment to independent innovation and quality, the company continuously advanced its technology and capabilities. Over more than two decades of persistent effort, MOON-TECH has transformed from an overseas explorer into a globally competitive refrigeration system solutions provider.

The MK project is a key local cold chain infrastructure project in Thailand, known for its high technical demands, short construction period, and stringent requirements for system stability, energy efficiency, and integrated service capabilities. Leveraging its mature global manufacturing and service systems, MOON-TECH worked in close collaboration with its local team, effectively integrating high-quality resources at home and abroad and building an efficient delivery model of “headquarters support + local execution.”
At the early stage of the project, MOON-TECH proactively addressed client concerns about Chinese-made equipment. Through onsite visits to sample projects already operating in Thailand, the client personally witnessed the efficiency and stability of MOON-TECH systems. They were later invited to visit MOON-TECH's headquarters. At the Hartford Intelligent Compressor Factory, they observed highly automated digital production lines and advanced quality management processes, which significantly changed their perception of Chinese manufacturing. “The speed and quality of China have exceeded the world’s expectations,” the client remarked after the visit.
During the project execution phase, MOON-TECH fully utilized its strengths in intelligent manufacturing, system integration, and quality management to ensure high-standard delivery. It also enhanced the capacity of the local team by arranging multiple training sessions and worked closely with the local Thai construction team to achieve efficient coordination across design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. Despite cultural, language, and regulatory differences, communication barriers were overcome through the use of BIM models, standardized drawings, and bilingual technical documentation. Throughout the construction process, the MOON-TECH team maintained a meticulous and excellence-driven approach—from millimeter-level installation precision to full-loop system commissioning; from implementing strict safety standards to managing every detail. The project earned recognition from both the client and other suppliers.
The successful and timely delivery of the MK project is a milestone for Chinese refrigeration technology in high-end overseas projects and a model of success for Chinese equipment manufacturing going global. Several Thai cold chain enterprises that previously relied heavily on European and American brands have since initiated cooperation with and begun to trust Chinese brands. Through this breakthrough, MOON-TECH deeply understands that entry into high-end markets is the result of long-term synergy between technical accumulation, system support, and local capability building. MOON-TECH will continue to rely on its intelligent manufacturing system, global collaboration network, and localized team capacity to implement its international strategy and help Chinese equipment achieve steady progress on the global stage. After more than 20 years of development, MOON-TECH has established 7 offices in 6 Southeast Asian countries. It has built a manufacturing base in Vietnam, a service subsidiary in Indonesia, and representative offices in Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, and the Philippines. Its products and services now cover the entire Southeast Asian region. MOON-TECH’s intelligent green energy solutions are bringing Chinese innovation to users across Southeast Asia and beyond—making temperature control smarter, more sustainable, and truly borderless.
Looking ahead, under MOON-TECH’s “Going Global via the Sea” strategy, Southeast Asia will witness an organizational upgrade from “representative offices” to “corporate entities” and a shift from “product exports” to “localized operations.” This transformation will further increase market share, enhance service quality, and provide valuable experience for the continued implementation of MOON-TECH’s international strategy.
